Revamping Random Wednesdays!

Cyanide and Happiness, a daily webcomic
Cyanide & Happiness @ Explosm.net

This is the very first Cyanide & Happiness -- a comic strip that honestly, it does not get weirder or more random than that. I've decided that I will be posting random (but funny) Cyanide & Happiness strips here on Wednesdays...because they're easy to find every week. :-P

Oh, and I wrote a new post over at Glamorous! Check it out, I think it's actually fairly good.

I was wondering though: are any of you any good at making banners? I know last time I asked it was because I wanted one for Best Gay Blogs, but this time it's because Tony G wants to put a banner of my blog on his site (sort of as a thanks for the post about him, I guess...he was soo touched, which made me feel really good. :D). So, it'd be awesome if someone with the talent could e-mail me or comment and I could give them a picture to turn into my banner.

"Everybody wants the samething..."

"We're trading places on the chain gang
It doesn't matter how you swing it
Everybody wants the same thing."

LOVE me some Scissor Sisters. :D

Anywho, more to the point, it's Wednesday!!

Yes, that is a museum display of moist towelettes. It doesn't get much randomer than that!

So, I'm still trying to figure out my spring break and it's not going real well at the moment though. I do hate it when plans fall apart or, worse, refuse to come together to begin with.

Random Picture of The Week!

My dream leads to scurvy. I LOVE it!
I picked a comic strip this time, it comes from a Facebook group I'm in called "I Picked a Major I Like, and One Day I Will Probably be Living in a Cardboard Box".

Almost funny, til you think about it....

Our random picture today is of a cheese-filtered cigarette.

What a waste of good cheese. How degrading for our (my) favorite dairy product.

I wonder, how many of you smoke? I don't, but nearly all of my friends do. I think it would probably decrease my risk of lung cancer if I started smoking, that's how many of my friends smoke. :P

Pretending That It's Wednesday...

In honor of Lost starting new episodes, and the hotness of Dominic Monaghan....

Random, but kind of sick.

I've got a twisted, horrible, terrible, awful, corny sense of humor today:

Also, I have a quote I need to throw out there that made me laugh really hard.
From yesterday, some of my friends and I were discussing various people we know and, in some cases, are not especially fond of. One of my friends said the most brilliant thing ever:
"His ego is like Canada; huge and *so* not important."

Random Picutre

Okay, ignore the message on the bottom and just think about this: in order to make this photograph, without doing any editing on the image of the toast, someone had to put sunglasses on a piece of toast.

Yeah, I'm entertained.

Uh.....huh?

I was having trouble finding a random image I liked for today. Nothing really fit my mood...a mood I couldn't really identify.

And then I went on Facebook. The mood was narcissistic, I think...the random picture is from shortly before Christmas:
Yes, I really am decorated. :-P
Yes, that is a really bad picture of me. :-P

Getting back on track...

With the holidays over, we're going to head back towards normalcy...and that means a Wednesday Random Picture!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone out there in the blogosphere!

The weekly random image is sort of themed to Christmas this week...

"Would you look at that! They're making a baby right in the front yard!"
"It's disgraceful!"

This is one of my favorite carols:

This is funnier than any picture I could have found...

Okay, so today is the random image day and all, but this is much funnier I'm going to hit you with a quote that I thought was hysterical from this article on CNN.com:
"The Bush administration does not believe the government should be regulating or stigmatizing the behavior of adults."
So says Wade Horn. Obviously, Wade Horn really does need his reality checked.

Anywho, this is what you have all been waiting for...........
Yeah, that was pretty much my thoughts as well.

Holiday Countdown
3
days til my grandmother's birthday
4 days til Christmas Eve
5 days til Christmas Day
6 days til Boxing Day
11 days til New Year's Eve

Number of Gifts Bought: 2
Oh snap. Time to get working on that, huh?

Monday Random Picture!

I was going to post that classic picture of the bunny with the pancakes on its head (I'm sure you've seen it) but my Google search turned up lots of images of said bunny from new angles -- and this! Since we know I can never resist a kitty....here's a kitty with a piece of toast on its head!

EDIT: So, it just occurred to me that the random picture comes on Wednesday. Wishful thinking that exam week was already half over? I think so! I'll do the inspirational picture on Wednesday instead...just keeping ya'll on your toes!

Thank yous!!!

I've got some thank yous to give out (and a happy update on yesterday's uncharacteristically downbeat entry.)

First of all, thanks to Google for our random image of the week....It's not funny like these sometimes are, but it got me thinking...what if our world really was donut shaped? How incredibly strange would that be?

Secondly, major thanks to Kendall for asking me his 10 Questions and posting them today!

Also, thanks for everyone's supportiveness concerning yesterday's dilemma.

Fortunately, brain storming and talking to people -- most of whom I hadn't planned to talk to -- really helped me regain my usual perky optomism. I have a plan of action now, and have defiantly decided: I will finish school here. Without taking out student loans.

I was reminded of someone I met way back in eigth grade. He was just graduating high school at the time and had received a scholarship for being a left-handed red-head. That got me thinking...I'm unique in lots of ways. I'm ambidextrous, that's a 2% of the population I fit into. I can almost guarantee there's a scholarship for that. And I bet I could get some kind of LGBT scholarship. And, undoubtedly, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America has some kind of scholarship, or more than one.
Abercrombie does indeed sponsor some scholarships, as I found out through Googling it because neither of our managers were there today, but in doing so I discovered that some of the companies my grandfather bought me stock in also sponsor scholarships.
And as Johnna pointed out, if you spend time in Rhode Island malls (which I do, frequently :-P) it's hard to avoid discovering some scholarships there.

I'm going to scholarship my way through tuition, live off-campus and work my way through books and rent.
That's the plan right now anyways. I'm going to be fine. :)

Weekly Random Image!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

And in case I don't get on tomorrow....I'm gonna post the pretty person in like ten minutes before I hit the hay.
(Or, as Boy-Craig typoed "hit the gay"...best typo ever. :P)

Random Image of the Week!

So, today's random image doesn't *look* that random. Please don't ask how I discovered this or what I was doing, I honestly can't tell you but if you Google image search "rabid platypus" it comes up with two pictures. This is the second one...I guess that's what rabid platypus' look like. Creepy. :-P

Democracy at Work

First, your weekly random picture...it's not toally random since election day was yesterday, but it had me amused:Oh, Australia. :-P

I tried to vote yesterday, and I hope all of you went and succeeded better than I did.

So, I registered to vote at Harrisburg Pride in July. I was gonna wait and do it at a place that seemed more reliable (and see if I could do it online) but...the woman had my phone number on her petition, and she threatened to call me every day until I registered to vote -- and she looked like she meant it. So I registered at her humble little stand at Pride.

Yesterday, I cheerfully hopped in my car, and drove towards the high school -- and decided I didn't want to vote there because, well, frankly the crossing guard was eyeing me down like he was going to decapitate me if I got out of my car.
So I drove until I saw signs for a polling place and I hadn't gone far -- I was at a local elementary school. I even knew where I was because the children's show I was in last semester had performed here. I parked, quite well (for me) I might add. Then I confidently went in to perform my civic duty as an American.
"What's your last name?" they asked. I told them.
"Nope," they said after a few minutes of looking.
"Nope?" I repeated, incredulously.
"Nope." One of the guys at the table got out his cell phone, dialed a number and he and I sat on hold for the next 40 minutes. Finally, we get through to whoever, explain what all had happened (I related my story about registering) and they said "We're sorry sir, somewhere along the line there was a disconnect. You're not registered."
So, they had me fill out the form again. This time though, he made me lick the sides and close it up. I'm not sure why that's significant, but that was really the only difference from last time I registered.
Then the guy gave me a candy bar and said "But don't let this dissuade you from voting next time!"

Despite my lack of assistance, Human Rights Campaign informed me at 2:01 this morning that 204 of the 228 candidates they endorsed had won, and 11 of these candidates were in undecided races (at the time). This included a sound defeat of Rick I-Wanna-Be-A-Phelps Santorum.

Just because I'm in a good mood, I'm going to give you all a second entertaining random picture:Also, check out this interesting, well-worded and (I think) fairly accurate analysis of the election results. (Thanks to Eric for mentioning it on his blog!)

Not-so-random Random Picture!

That's right. Those are gummy octopi. And you know what else?
I can buy them on my campus now. I haven't, because they freak me out like no other. But the option is there. :-P

Will cuddle!

I don't have much to say. Campus is carrying on as normal, the show is driving me crazy (or maybe that's just a certain incredibly uptight and self-righteous member of the crew...) , but it's coming along. I was in rehearsal all day, literally, today.

Dinner in a few, but I came across this on Facebook and I couldn't wait for next Wednesday (or Monday (which I suppose I could have made up an excuse to post it then. :-P) It's too adorable to wait:

A rare sight

So, the random picture this week.......Is a Canadian tank. They really do exist!!!! I guess those of us who thought every Canadian with the slightest militaristic tendency joined the Peace Corps. are eating our words now.

I just want to see the Canadian war boat. Er...boot.

(DISCLAIMER: I really do love Canada and Canadians...I just also like to poke fun at them. :P) (But then, as this blog rolls along, you'll find there's not many people and things I don't like to make fun of when the opportunity presents itself...)

Today is gonna be a big day, but I'll tell you all about it later. For now it's something I'm sure you've been waiting for....Wednesday's Random Picture!!!! This one made me laugh, cause you know that's what all those road construction signs would be thinking if they...y'know, thought.
