Honey, honey, how you thrill me, ahuh!

Oh my, what a weekend we've had!

So, Wednesday night was our big event and it was FABULOUS. Lots of people came, some of whom I haven't seen in ages! Awesome Kong and Roxxi were amazing and SO MUCH FUN!

And then, at two in the morning, the club closed and Chris and I began our drive to Rhode Island. We arrived at my parent's house at 8:15 am and got in an hour nap, got ready and then the family began to arrive for Thanksgiving dinner. We ate that then sped off to his family's Thanksgiving, then returned to my parents house to rest and sleep.

Friday we went out in Providence, figuring we would go up early, leave early, and then get a head start on Saturday's drive. The plan started well, but we didn't leave the clubs til 1:00 am and then we decided we were hungry and we stopped at Bickford's. And we got home at about 3:30 am and slept til 11:00 am -- which was when we planned to leave -- and then began our drive at noon.

We were home by about 6:00 pm. We ate, showered, and got ready to go out. We went down to DC and hit up BeBar where two of my friends were having a birthday, then we went to Town because Chris' friend was there. We headed back fairly early by DC standards, slept, and then this week began.

Here's the thing about this week: my senior project has to be done by the end of it. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

What's the buzz? Tell me what's a-happening...

I get it, ya'll don't like how I'm not posting......so let me tell you what all has been going on.

I got cast in the fall main stage production of Gint. I was up for the lead, but the damn script....the minor characters are more difficult to play and require a greater ability to have variety. And for that reason I was not cast as the lead -- which is a good thing, I suppose, except for the one little detail: It looks shitty not to have leading roles on your resume!!!
Okay, over it.

I'm slacking in my core class. The professor is allowing it. "I need you guys to watch this video, but just in case you can't see it when it's on TV I'm going to give you the answers to the worksheet in class." Yes, that's how I'm earning my participation grade. Dead serious.

As for my little adventure back home to Rhode Island this weekend...it was because I had a film gig. For a web series. And it sounds like it will be the first of several appearances I have on the series. My video isn't even out yet and the character is already getting involved from his Bebo...
My friends Kat and Katie came with me. To make the weekend even better, it was my mom's birthday. And the last full Waterfire of the season. And the Dark Lady was having it's Gay-sha block party!

In other news, a few pop culture things that irk me:
The Backstreet Boys have too many things in common with their songs. For instance, their two most recent "hits" (that I know of) are "Inconsolable" and "Incomplete". Can we get a new first syllable, boys? Aside from the similarities between the words themselves, both songs suck. Course, I have never been a fan of them so...maybe I'm biased?

Next on the agenda: Chris Cocker, or whatever his name is. The boy weeps in the defense of a tragic mess and, dare I say, a lost cause (Britney Spears) and suddenly shoots to stardom. Can I just throw this out there: he's OBNOXIOUS. His hair is bad. His face is bizarre. I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than his heinous voice. And could you be any more....(for lack of a better word) gay? Seriously, get a personality and follow it up with your sexuality, not the other way around.

Aaaaand, on a totally seperate note...how's this for exciting: Expressmen Interviews My Friend Tony Gibble!

Birthday Weekend!!

Okay, where did I leave you guys off at? Oh, yes, yes...I told you it was my birthday but neglected to mention anything else.

So, sad news: I haven't run into car guy again. Not that I haven't tried, but that's beside the point.

So, Friday night I went to Topher's house and happened to be there at midnight when it became my birthday. So yay that! Shortly thereafter we went to Dark Lady where we talked to the manager. He told me to come in Tuesday to get scheduled. YAY JOB!!

Anywho, Adam was at Dark Lady and told us that Jon was at Dark Lady. Now, Jon and I were still in a rather bizarre place because of the things he'd drunkenly said at Pride...so I thought "okay, we'll go over." Topher and I went and hung out outside of Mirabar. That was super fun, actually, as there wasn't much time left for them to be open and everyone kept coming out, so we actually saw a million people. Including Jon. Who was with a boy, but whatever.

So I met a man named Steve who took Adam, Topher, and I out to breakfast for my birthday. We had invited Jon and his boy, but they showed up at the restaurant to tell us they couldn't eat with us. Because, y'know, not coming wouldn't have gotten the message across. :P After I gorged myself on chocolate chip pancakes, I went home and went to sleep.

I woke up, showered, got dressed and went to work at A&F. Work was a lot of fun, especially because everyone was bragging to everyone about how it was my birthday. And my manager gave me a walkie-talkie to use for the day. It was exciting.
After work, I went to dinner just outside the mall with my family. Grace waits tables at a restaurant there, so of course we went to torture her. It was good food, and of course she tried to embarrass me by having the whole staff of the restaurant come to do their birthday chant thing to me. Unfortunately for her, the first line of the chant is "We can't sing, so here's our thing".
So I said to her, "But you can sing, what gives?" :D

We left the restaurant and headed to Providence for Waterfire. There's really no way of describing Waterfire, so I won't...but if they're having one on your birthday, and you're in Rhode Island...there is just no way you miss it. So we went.
After that I headed to Energy and ran into tons of people. Chris and Bill were out, Dave and Josh, Bill, Roland, Scott and Mike...it was a good time. Grace met up with me there after she got off work and we met some new friends there (another Dave...we need more names in this city!). After that, a bunch of us trekked to Mirabar. She and I ran into Kenny there, which was so exciting. His boyfriend John was, unfortunately, not out. I didn't know why, but I just talked to John so I know why now. :P

Anywho, following going out, and almost everyone was out so that was fun, a bunch of us headed out for breakfast. I didn't know most of the group, but they all turned out to be fabulous and amazing. Josh and Grace were actually the only two I knew ahead of time. It was a great time, and I got home at, I think, 5:30 in the morning. I was the first one home.

I woke up the next day, showered, and was almost immediately told that the whole family was there for my birthday and I was the only one missing. Yikes.
So I scrambled to get dressed and ran downstairs and we chatted for a bit, then ate lunch, then did presents. The loot report was such:
-Dungeon Siege II: Broken World (my brother burned it for me because he knows how much I was dying for that! I'm a big fan of the Dungeon Siege games)
-Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris (the second book of the Southern Vampire novels...of which I have the first, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth.)
-The Dragon King Saga by Stephen Lawhead (he's totally my favorite author and this series, which my dad found all in one book, has been on my list for years)
-A new battery for my laptop, it desperately needed it. Unfortch, my dad got me an upgraded battery and it won't charge on the adapter I have, which I can't explain. It may that my adapter was dead, not my old battery. Who knows?
-Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris
-Son of a Witch by Gregory Macguire (the sequel to Wicked, which I have and read.)
-Eragon (Inheritance, Book 1) by Christopher Paolini.
And plenty of money. All in all, a good haul. :)

Anyways, yesterday I worked at A&F. It was horrible, we won't discuss it.
Today's been good. No work. Jon and I are supposed to hang out soon, and then he Grace and I should be going to Justin's movie night, and then I'm stopping by Energy to see John and Kenny and then I'm going to Dark Lady to get scheduled and then I will returning to Justin's house to finish movie night.

"If in heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell!"

I know usually I do Cyanide & Happiness on Wednesday, but since I've been bad since Sunday, I'm going to tell you everything that's going on.

Firstly, I'd like to say the musical The Wild Party seems to have the best songs for exhibiting my philosophies about life. You should definitely check it out.

So, anyways, Monday I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch. It was lots of fun -- especially since RGIS was coming in to do inventory. Woot. Woot. So we had to refold everything, absolutely everything, in the store so that the tag stuck out. And we had to keep it all orderly. And, oh yeah, they closed the stockroom several hours before the end of the day so we could no longer restock the floor or help customers find anything that wasn't out. It was kind of a rough day. But I enjoyed it. I do love working for that company.
Also, one of my partners-in-crime, Hannah, showed up to get her job back now that school is over. So, that was exciting. Soon the dynamic duo of Hannaham will be back in action. I just made up that Hannaham name just now.

Now, I don't know if any of you have been in any A&Fs lately but this season's posters are so hot. Lots of "almost kisses", and for people who love to see kisses, like myself, that's very cool. Even if the posters are also (mostly) very hetero.
(The picture above is not a poster from this season. He's got too much clothes on for that.)

I did not go out Monday night because I had the pleasure of opening the store Tuesday morning. I worked all day, but it wasn't too bad. I fixed the damn jean walls, I steamed, I restocked the floor using the USR sheets, I folded clearance (I'm always folding clearance -- if you are ever in an A&F looking at clearance do me a favor and do not carelessly root through the piles and make a mess on the table. That's okay in Hollister, but not in A&F!)

I got off work, went home, ate, napped, then woke up and got ready to go to class (which included wolfing down a too-hot frozen dinner in five minutes). My first night class. Ever. Some of you know that I am taking a class in Italian this summer -- this was it. My first one.
And I was fifteen minutes late thanks to a massive traffic jam caused by a car breaking down in the middle lane of I-95, during the already horrendous rush hour traffic! Of course, I was driving in the middle lane. Total shitshow, I'm telling you.

So, I parked in the Civic Center parking garage. I had, in my panic of being late, forgotten that students are supposed to park in the Convention Center parking garage. They both start with C, I was frazzled, I made a mistake. We'll get back to that little drama later.

Anyways, went to class, it was fine. I wasn't the only one late as I wasn't the only one who took I-95. I am far ahead of the rest of the class, but I am pretending I'm not too far ahead so she doesn't make an example of me too often. We went quickly though. Unfortch, she said we were going to be stopping just before future tense. Which means we'll cover the tenses I pretty much remember and it will all be review, except for the vocab. Mostly though, it'll be an easy four credits and it'll cover my Modern Language requirement for Core Curriculum; and that's what I need.

So, I stopped by Club Energy which is right across the street from the club. I said hi to Jaymes, who works there and who I know. I asked if anyone else I knew was there (namely Ivan) but apparently Ivan gets off work at 9 there on Tuesdays. So I will go to class early from now on, so I can stop in and say hi to Ivan. I will have to figure out where he's partying these days and when too. He always goes to the best parties.

So I continued on my way back to parking garage. And discovered that it was closing. Like, had one door open and it was only an exit. So I hurried to my car, and drove to the exit. And then I realized my mistake. And looked at the prices. And didn't have enough to pay. So I'm panicking, and I explain the situation to the guy at the gate.
And he goes "Give me your ticket." So I did. And he punches something into his computer and then he says, "Have a nice day." And the gate opens and I'm free!

So of course, then I went to Club XL. I tipped one dancer, Antonio, who is the hottest one there (and that means a lot coming from me!). He's cool and we kind of befriended each other, so that was awesome. I mean, we'll get closer.
Especially considering what happened next. I'm discussing with Pot Pie the need for me to get a night job for extra cash, and how I'm uncomfortable with the nudity at XL but how I'm not great with mixing drinks which I would need to do at Mirabar.
So he suggests I work at a shotboy at XL. So at the end of the night, we go to Scott (who owns the place) and he explains that I'd like a job. Scott goes "I have four people looking for the shotboy job, but come in Sunday after 9 o'clock and audition. Wear cute and tight underwear."
So now I'm auditioning to be a dancer at Club XL on Sunday night. And I'm so nervous.

Oh, what a night!

Tonight was great. I loved it.

First, I went to see The Departed with my family, which I'll write up a whole review on tomorrow, but I can't think of anything negative to say about it so it will probably be fairly dull. My brother came down from Boston just to see me! Which is exciting...but makes me wonder what he wants. :-P

Anyways, then I went out to Club Energy tonight. It was a good night -- not as many of my old friends as I had hoped, but I did see Kyle, Billy (who doesn't hate me, which yay, and that's a story for another time), Bill, Eric, and.....John and Kenny!!! That was super exciting. Now, don't get me wrong. I love all my friends from the clubs, but of them all the three I love the most are Neil, Kenny, and John. Not necessarily in that order (although sometimes, I suppose, yes). I feel very much at home, safe and comfortable, with any of the three of them.

One thing I've realized in the past year is that home isn't a place, it's a feeling. And like all feelings, it's brought about by the people around you. Those three...they're like some of the beams in the walls of my house. They hold up the roof above me, shield me from the worst of the world's weather...and in return I try to keep the termites from eating them. (Okay, shut up, it's four in the morning...at least I tried to be deep!)

Anyways, I really enjoyed hanging out with John and Kenny tonight. I met some new people too -- Domenic, Garia (who is fabulous), some Boston girl who's name I forget (I'm *sure* Kenny can tell me, he was all excited), Josh, and another Josh. It was a good time for all! Yeah, Kenny kept like elbowing me and going "I LOVE it! She's from Eastie!" and "I can't STAND it! She's an Eastie!" in his crazy, uniquely-Kenny-way of being excited when he talks. That's something I miss in PA, no one is quite that Kenny-crazy that's so amazing.

John (being John and therefore intelligent) was smart and went and got his and Kenny's jackets while that was going on so he neither had to listen to twenty minutes of Boston-craziness (:-P) and they didn't have to freeze their nips off.

Also, no one will ever convince me that Providence is not one of the greatest cities on Earth. It's not NYC, that's for damn sure...but's pretty amazing none-the-less.
